A Family Affair
A couple weeks ago, my family travelled to Andover, MA to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. All of my siblings and their families also made the trip. None of us take these family get togethers for granted anymore. Although it was a busy weekend, my sister and I coordinated to find a good time for a senior session for my niece Caroline. It was important to take advantage of our time together because my sister’s family lives in Virginia.
We chose Phillips Academy as our session location. It was fabulous. The fall foliage was peaking, and the impressive campus offered many countless spots for pictures. My niece looked stunning in her blue dress although I felt chilled looking at her!
For the second half of her session, Caroline changed into jeans and was definitely warmer. Her outfit was so fun and stylish. We had a great time chatting and coming up with new spots and new poses for incredible images. I especially love this one of Caroline on the stone steps. She already looks like she’s in college!
As a bonus, my sister Maria and my daughter Lily joined at the end of our session. I always love including some photos of seniors and their parents. This one of my sister and Caroline is very dear to my heart.
My sister and I are very fortunate to have daughters who are only four months apart in age. Neither Caroline nor Lily has a sister so they have become each other’s sister de facto. They have always had a special bond. Growing up the girls had very different interests but it did not seem to matter. The connection was there from the start and always will be. I look at them on the cusp of adulthood and find it so bittersweet. There is part of my heart that will always see them like this.
I am excited for what the future holds for these two special girls who I love so much. They are each incredible in so many ways and it has been a pleasure to see them become such wonderful and accomplished young women
