After the Storm
Sometimes things just work out. Gabrielle and I were scheduled to meet for an evening session at Todd’s Point. About an hour before I needed to drive to meet Gabrielle the skies opened up and an intense thunderstorm ensued. The forecast for the rest of the evening was filled with uncertainty. The rain stopped and I texted Gabrielle’s mother Mairead to check in with her about the weather by them in Old Greenwich. Mairead said it was overcast but the rain had seemed to subside. I had a good feeling about the session and told Mairead I was going to head over. I am so thankful I did! As a photographer I watch skies and the best skies and light often appear right after a big storm. Sure enough when we got to Todd’s Point the sky was gorgeous and the temperature just right. To make matters even better the beach was empty
Gabrielle, Mairead and I had such fun walking along and stopping for stunning spots to photograph Gabrielle. I have known Gabrielle and her mom for over 10 years and it was a treat to spend time with both of them. Gabrielle was such cooperative model. She and Mairead chuckled as I directed them with all my “secret” posing tricks. Gabrielle had them all down pat by the end of the evening. She was a natural and had the most endearing smile and laugh.
I love beach sessions and was so happy that Gabrielle chose Todd’s Point for her shoot. It was the perfect spot to capture this Old Greenwich resident. I cannot wait to hear about Gabrielle’s senior year at School of the Holy Child. I know that this beautiful young lady is destined for great things.
