Sunset Session
Last month I met Regina, a rising senior at Sacred Heart Greenwich, for an evening session at Todd’s Point. Regina’s mother Mairead and older sister Gabrielle also joined us. I have known this family for close to fifteen years and had photographed Gabrielle (’21) last summer. It is always a treat to spend time with them. I knew we would have lots of laughs.
The sun was low when we began the session but also quite bright so we started with some backlit images so as not to irritate Regina’s beautiful and sensitive light eyes. I had to force myself to leave this gorgeous spot.
We moved closer to the water and I captured some fun images of Regina with her mom and sister. It is evident that Regina has a close relationship with both. These ladies have the best senses of humor and had fun posing with each other.
Gabrielle will be leaving for college on the West coast so it was important to capture a good image of the two sisters together. Hopefully one of the photos will make its way across the country into Gabby’s dorm room.
Next, we move over to a dock which always makes a great backdrop with a colorful sky. It amazes me how many colors the sky will turn during one of my sunset sessions at the beach. Regina looked absolutely stunning in her dress standing on the dock.
I also asked Regina to take some images by the colorful kayaks stacked up nearby. These images seemed to highlight Regina’s fun personality.
Even as the sun set, we managed to get in a few more photos during what photographers like to call “the blue hour.” Mairead was kind enough to help me balance my off-camera light on the rocks. I was busy balancing myself and my camera! But it was all worth it.
I hope Regina has a spectacular senior year. I am excited to hear what is next for this wonderful and accomplished young woman!
