Triple the Fun
Earlier in August I had the pleasure of photographing Brinkley. Brinkley is a rising senior at The Winchendon School in Massachusetts and was home in Greenwich for the summer. I have known Brinkley since she was about seven or eight and was in my daughter’s ballet class. Brinkley’s mom, a good friend of mine, chose my session package that includes up to three locations. I was very excited to use three venues in one session to create a beautiful and varied gallery of images.
We started the session at Brinkley’s home. We wanted to make sure Fletcher, the family dog, was included in the gallery. Fletcher was remarkably well behaved. I even joked that I should hire him as a prop for my other sessions!
We also took some very sweet images of Brinkley with her sister Mary Kate. The two girls absolutely glowed in the gorgeous sunlight by their home.
Next stop was Binney Park in Old Greenwich. Binney is a wonderful location to capture images. Brinkley’s father joined us and we made sure to include some wonderful family portraits. It was obvious to me that they are close knit family and it was wonderful to capture them together.
Later when Brinkley’s father and sister left, I made sure to get a few images of Brinkley with her mother. I am very partial to the mother/daughter bond partly because my own daughter just left for college. Brinkley will leave for her boarding school soon so I was pretty certain I knew how her mom was feeling. Their special bond was very evident.
Our final destination was Tod’s Point. I never tire of Tod’s Point as a session location. The light on the beach is undeniably beautiful and this evening did not disappoint! Brinkley looked stunning in her black dress. Our session had already passed the two-hour mark at this point and it had been incredibly warm – 90 plus degrees! Brinkley was a trooper though. When I suggested she do a spin like she had in her former ballet classes, Brinkley quickly moved through a few graceful dance poses which I was lucky enough to capture. I had a bit of fun in photoshop and was thrilled with the result!
We continued the session until the sun set. It was a session to remember! I heard about Brinkley’s college tours and upcoming visits. She is a senior who knows what she wants and I have no doubt that she will end up in the perfect school for her. In the meantime, I hope Brinkley has a fabulous senior year and makes wonderful memories.
