Dynamic Duo

I had the opportunity to have a session with Natalie, a senior at Sacred Heart Greenwich, a few weeks ago.  Our session took place at Natalie’s home which had a stunning backyard and many spots for photographs.  Although it was a cloudy afternoon, the colors of the fall foliage were out in full force.  Truthfully as much as I love working with the sun, a cloudy day ensures beautiful even light for portraits.

Natalie’s mom had inquired about including some shots of Natalie’s brother Felix, a sophomore at Rye Country Day School in the session.  She wanted images of the two siblings together as well as a few solo ones of Felix.  I was happy to accommodate her request.

It was a treat to photograph Natalie and Felix.  The focus of the session was on Natalie but some of my favorite images were the ones of this wonderful sister brother duo.  It was clear to me that these siblings have a great relationship.  As a sister of two younger brothers and a mom to a girl followed by three boys, I know firsthand all about the older sister/younger brother relationship.  It is not always the smoothest.  Natalie and Felix clearly have a wonderful friendship.  I think these images of the two of them together highlight their special bond.

The benefit of having a session at home is that it is easy to change outfits.  Natalie got very different looks from her two choices.  She started the session in a blue dress which highlighted her beautiful blue eyes.

She changed into jeans for the second half of the session which made for some more relaxed images.

I feel fortunate to have been able to spend time with Natalie and her brother Felix.  Each was so poised and accommodating.  They were a joy to work with and I think the future holds great things for each of them.
